Before you install

A download should arrive with its receipt.

GlidePath is local-first, but the installer still deserves verification. The platform-specific signing claims are named plainly, and the published checksum file gives every release artifact something you can inspect before running it.

Download & run the installer

Click the button above. The installer is ~44 MB (the .NET runtime is bundled inside, so there's nothing else to install; it extracts to ~135 MB on disk). Run it and approve the prompt — Windows needs it to install the app and add a firewall rule. The installer is signed by QuickTech LLC via Microsoft Trusted Signing so SmartScreen recognizes the publisher; if you see an "unknown publisher" warning, you grabbed a pre-1.0 build — re-download from this page.

Explore first, or activate

GlidePath opens on its front door: Explore comes first — one click opens a fictional side-business household, no license key, account, or email. Bought a license? The Already have a license key? panel sits just below: paste the key and email from your welcome email, it checks in with api.glidepathmoney.com just long enough to confirm your license, and you're in. Either way, your financial file stays local — the license check sends your key and device info, never your financial data.

Build your first Money State

When you're ready for your own numbers, the home page opens with a first-run brief and one button: Build your first Money State. It leads to Setup, where you start with one file — drop a bank CSV and GlidePath shows exactly what will change (row counts, flagged duplicates, sample rows) before anything saves — or type in two or three current balances by hand. System requirements.

Modest needs — the runtime is bundled, so there’s nothing extra to install. If you have a computer from the last several years, you’re fine.

Windows

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
  • ~44 MB download; about 135 MB on disk after install
  • .NET runtime is bundled — no separate installs
  • A modern browser is included via the desktop app; your dashboard opens at localhost:5000

Linux

  • 64-bit x64; validated on Ubuntu 24.04, other distros via the AppImage
  • Self-contained — no .NET install needed
  • Minimal distros need libicu; keyring encryption uses secret-tool (or a passphrase)

Mac

  • Apple Silicon or Intel, macOS 13 (Ventura) or newer
  • Signed .dmg with an Apple-notarized app inside — open and drag to Applications (jump to Mac)

Same license either way — one purchase covers your household across Windows, Linux, and Mac, up to your plan’s device count (3 on Personal, 6 on Personal+Business). No phone or always-on internet required: GlidePath runs on your own machine.

Linux

The same app, natively on Linux — validated end-to-end on Ubuntu 24.04 desktop (keyring-backed encryption keys, PDF invoices, the full test suite). Pick your flavor:

Debian / Ubuntu / Mint — .deb

Download the .deb, then install it:

Launch GlidePath Money from your app menu (or run glidepathmoney) — it serves your dashboard at localhost:5000 in your browser.

Any other distro — AppImage

Download the AppImage (self-contained — no install, no .NET needed), then make it executable and run it:

Same deal: your dashboard appears at localhost:5000. (Minimal distros need libicu installed; upgrading later = download the new AppImage and replace the old one.)

Activation: no installer wizard on Linux — open the app and paste your license key + email on the Activate page it greets you with. Your data lives in ~/.local/share/GlidePath Money/data.

What works today: the whole planner — dashboard, retirement Monte Carlo, Tax Valley, the balance-transfer tracker, imports, invoices, the browser extension, Glide AI, and at-rest encryption with keys in your desktop keyring (GNOME Keyring / KWallet via libsecret — needs secret-tool, standard on Ubuntu/GNOME; on KDE enable KWallet’s Secret Service interface, or use a passphrase instead). Validated end-to-end on Ubuntu 24.04; other distros should work via the AppImage, and we'll fix what you find — tell us.

Verify your download: every artifact's hash is published at SHA256SUMS.txt (run sha256sum --ignore-missing -c SHA256SUMS.txt next to your download), and every Linux build is ClamAV-scanned clean in CI before it ships. These links also open VirusTotal lookups for this build's .deb and AppImage. Mac

A signed .dmg with an Apple-notarized app inside — open it and drag GlidePath Money to Applications, no Terminal. Gatekeeper opens it without the "unidentified developer" warning. Pick your chip:

Apple Silicon (M1 or later) — .dmg

Download the Apple Silicon disk image, then open it and drag the app to Applications.

Launch GlidePath Money from Launchpad or Applications — it serves your dashboard at localhost:5000 in your browser, same as Windows.

Intel Mac — .dmg

Download the Intel disk image, then open it and drag the app to Applications.

Not sure which you have? Apple menu → About This Mac — look for "Apple M…" (Silicon) versus "Intel".

Signed disk image, notarized app. The disk image is code-signed as QuickTech LLC and carries an Apple-notarized app, so macOS opens the app without the "unidentified developer" block. The app inside is the Notarized Developer ID build.

Activation: on first launch the app opens its Activate page in your browser — paste your license key + email. Your data lives in ~/Library/Application Support/GlidePath Money/.

What works today: the whole planner — dashboard, retirement Monte Carlo, Tax Valley, the balance-transfer tracker, imports, invoices, the browser extension, Glide AI, and optional at-rest encryption with keys in your macOS Keychain.

Prefer a hand install? Placing the app from Terminal (advanced) is available for troubleshooting and scripted setups — same signed disk image, just copied instead of dragged. Antivirus flagged or quarantined the download?

Once in a while a brand-new release gets a “low reputation” flag from an antivirus tool. Most of these reports are reputation warnings for a new build, not confirmed malware. They usually clear within a few days as the release builds reputation.

You don’t have to take our word for it. Every GlidePath installer is code-signed by QuickTech LLC, and its SHA-256 hash is published. Open the VirusTotal lookup for this exact build.

If yours quarantined it: open your antivirus’s Quarantine or Protection History, find the GlidePath Money installer, choose Restore or Allow, and re-run it. We also report each release to the antivirus vendors to clear the flag at the source. Either way, your financial file stays local by default — that’s the whole point of GlidePath.
