Acceptable use
Acceptable Use Policy
Plain-English version: use GlidePath Money to plan your own household’s finances. Don’t use it to harm people, evade the law, or process someone else’s financial data without their consent. This page covers the edge cases.
Written in plain English, and in effect today.

1. Who this applies to
This Acceptable Use Policy covers anyone using GlidePath Money — the desktop app and the marketing site, all of it. It sits alongside the EULA and Terms of Service; agreeing to either means you agree to this one too.
2. Permitted uses
- Planning and tracking your own household’s personal finances
- Planning and tracking finances for a family member or partner who has consented to you doing so (the device cap and one-household rule still apply)
- Sole-proprietor business bookkeeping under the Personal+Business tier (Schedule C-style activity, not multi-member entities)
3. Prohibited uses
You may not use GlidePath Money to:
- Process someone else’s financial data without their informed consent — clients, customers, anyone whose household isn’t yours
- Operate as a financial advisory, accounting, or bookkeeping service for third parties. GlidePath Money is a personal-use tool, not a multi-tenant platform.
- Evade taxes, money-laundering controls, sanctions, or other applicable law. Tracking your own finances is fine; using the app’s outputs to misrepresent income to the IRS or a financial institution is not.
- Violate U.S. export-control laws. The app contains cryptographic libraries (Argon2 for password hashing, DPAPI for license encryption) that are subject to U.S. export regulations. Don’t install or use the app in jurisdictions where doing so is prohibited.
- Circumvent the license activation, device-cap, or technical-protection systems. If you need more device installs than your tier allows, upgrade.
- Share or resell your license key, activation credentials, or installer. One household per license; licenses are non-transferable except as described in the EULA.
- Reverse-engineer the app to discover or exploit security weaknesses, except as needed for good-faith security research disclosed via security@glidepathmoney.com per our security disclosure policy. (Interoperability research is permitted per applicable copyright law.)
- Submit content to the optional Glide AI helper that violates Anthropic’s usage policies — e.g., attempts to extract harmful content, jailbreak prompts, or content involving minors. The Glide AI feature is for interactively asking about personal-finance concepts and how GlidePath works — not for automated, scripted, or bulk querying, or for extracting data programmatically. It is unlimited for normal use, subject to reasonable per-minute and per-day fair-use limits that apply only to prevent abuse.
4. What happens if you break the rules
If you violate this AUP, we may suspend or terminate your license and refuse future service. For serious violations — using GlidePath for fraud, sanctions evasion, processing other people’s financial data without consent — we may also report to law enforcement. If it looks like a misunderstanding rather than bad faith, we’ll usually reach out first to clarify before taking action.
Termination for an AUP violation doesn’t entitle you to a refund of any portion of the license fee you’ve already paid — unless the violation was a good-faith misunderstanding that you reasonably corrected.
5. Reporting violations
If you become aware of someone misusing GlidePath Money in a way that violates this AUP — for example, running the app as a service for unconsenting third parties — please email security@glidepathmoney.com.
For security vulnerabilities, use that same security@glidepathmoney.com address. See our security.txt and security page for the disclosure process.
6. Changes to this AUP
We may update this AUP over time. Material changes will be announced by email to the address on your license, with at least 30 days’ notice before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the app after the effective date is acceptance of the updated AUP.
